If you’re using Shopify, there’s a good chance you have a generic abandoned cart email firing off from the backend of your store. Before proceeding with Springbot’s ‘Abandoned Cart’ triggered emails, we’ll need to toggle off your generic one in Shopify first. But don’t worry - it’s very simple!

To disable automatic abandoned checkout recovery emails:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings, then click Checkout.

  2. In the Order processing section, under the If the customer abandons their checkout heading, you’ll see the following options:

    • Never (default). You can still manually send an email to customers.

    • 1 hour later 

    • 6 hours later.

    • 10 hours later

    • 24 hours later. 

  3. If it’s not already, select Never to toggle off. 
  4. Click Save.


Keep in mind, Springbot’s triggered emails allow you to customize the timing, HTML, and most importantly who you email what. We suggest disabling your Shopify generic abandoned cart email and activating ours as soon possible for a more personalized approach.
