If you're starting to use Springbot for sending email newsletters and already have a list of subscribers from your previous Email Service Provider (ESP), you'll want to import those existing subscribers into Springbot so you can continue emailing them.

Create a New List

To view your subscriber list and create a new list, head to Campaigns > Lists.

You will then want to type the name of your new list into the blank field at the top and then click Create list. Your newly created list will then appear below along with your other lists.

Click the name of your list to add email contacts. On the next page, click Add emails in the top right.

Here you'll see that there are 4 different ways for adding contacts to your email list:

Manual Entry

Here you can manually add subscribers one-by-one by entering their email, first name and last name. If you only know their email address but not their name, you can leave the first and last name sections blank.

When you're finished, click Submit.

Upload CSV

If you already have a list of many subscribers, you can upload them all at once. Please note that your CSV must be properly formatted before it can be uploaded (see example screenshot below).

We only need their Email, First name, and Last name so if your file has other information, it will need to be removed prior to uploading.

When you're finished, click Submit.

Import via API

If you were previously using MailChimp or Constant Contact, you have the ability to import your previously created lists directly from your provider to Springbot via our integration with their API.

Click "Select a provider" on the right to choose your provider. This will automatically sync the lists you selected when you first connected your MailChimp / Constant Contact account to Springbot.

When you're finished, click Submit.

Segmentation

If you'd like to create a list based on a specific segment you have created in Springbot, you can choose to add everyone in the segment to your list. Note -- depending on how the segment is built, some people in the segment may not have directly opted-in to your email list, so be cautious when choosing this option as this will add them to your list even if they have not opted-in.

When you're finished, click Submit.

Confirming Authorization to Add Subscribers to your Email List

Whenever you add a new subscriber to a list, you will need to check this box before clicking Submit. This means that you are confirming that everyone being added to your list has explicitly given you permission to email them. Springbot does not allow purchased or rented lists. If you have questions, you can refer to our company terms of use and privacy policy for more details.

What about my contacts who have previously unsubscribed from my email list?

You'll want to upload these contacts separately so we continue to respect their preferences and they remain unsubscribed.

Exporting Subscribers

You're able to easily export your Email List from Springbot at any time. First, hover on Campaigns at the top of your dashboard, and then click Lists.

Here you will see all of the Email Lists in your account. To begin, click into the name of the email list you'd like to export. Then, click the blue Export List button:

This will download the entire Email List to a CSV file on your computer.

You might have a pop-up blocker in place (particularly if you're using Chrome). You can temporarily disable pop-ups, or you can select the pop-up blocker icon in the URL field to change your settings.
